Fire · Color · Light — On Enameling and Becoming
Nora Kovats is an interdisciplinary artist working in the fields of jewelry, enamel, and painting. In her studio NONNE 11 in Bamberg, she combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary art, creating a special space for exhibitions and workshops centered around the art of enameling.
Now, on August 15, 2026, she is releasing the book project Fire · Color · Light, which she worked on with great dedication during the first half of 2026. At the same time, the book marks the debut of the publisher NONNE 11 dreiviertel, which Nora founded together with Alvaro-Luca Ellwart.
Congratulations, dear Nora!

A publication about the encounter with enameling, about Nora Kovats’ work in the tension between technical precision and creative intuition, about the inner source of creativity, nature as a teacher, and the search for meaning through artistic creation.
Furthermore, the book combines the artist’s personal texts with carefully composed photographs of her work and process, offering insights into the creation and inner logic of her pieces. It is supplemented by contributions from Nora Kovats, Ulrich Haass, Andreas Huth, Sabine Wilp, and Hubert Sowa. Together, they open up different perspectives on enameling and invite the reader to engage with craft, art, and material.

Anyone who would like to browse through Fire · Color · Light at their leisure, gain initial insights into the book project, or join in conversation with Nora and the contributors is warmly invited to stop by the studio on August 15 and celebrate:
