Workshop Facilitation & Short Bio

Gabriele Hinze was born in Essen in 1964 and completed her training in the goldsmith trade in 1983. After her time as a journeyman at Lake Constance, she studied at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, where she received her diploma in 1995. The jewelry class led by Johanna Dahm at the Salzburg International Summer Academy of Fine Arts was a formative influence.

In addition to her own artistic work, she has been involved in teaching for many years — from 2006 to 2008 she taught at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, and since 2017 she has been an instructor at the Ausbildungs- und Kulturcentrum (AKC) in Berlin. She is also a member of the Bavarian Association of Arts and Crafts (Bayerischer Kunstgewerbeverein) and Angewandte Kunst Berlin-Brandenburg.

Cancellations & Rebookings

You can cancel your booked workshop up to 4 weeks before the scheduled date. In this case, the course fee already paid will be refunded, minus a 25% processing fee.

If the cancellation occurs less than 4 weeks before the date, a refund of the course fee is only possible if you provide a replacement participant who takes your place. In this case, the course fee will be transferred to the replacement participant under the same conditions.

Should a workshop or course not be able to take place on the part of coopgold, for example due to a lack of participants or unforeseen circumstances, the full course fee will be refunded. Further claims are excluded in this case.

Cancellations must be made in writing via email to mail@coopgold.de. The time of receipt of your cancellation notice is decisive for compliance with the deadline. The 25% processing fee is charged by coopgold to cover the organizational effort involved in the cancellation.

Preparation & Safety Instructions

Every course begins with a brief introduction tailored to the specific workshop instructor and the particular workflows involved. During this time, you will receive all the essential information regarding materials and tools to ensure you can work safely.

To ensure you get the best possible start to the workshop, we recommend that you pay attention to appropriate clothing and the general guidelines beforehand:

Appropriate clothing

  • It is best to wear cotton (no synthetic fibers), as we work with fire
  • Wear clothes that can get a little dirty, or bring an apron
  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes
  • Tie back long hair

General guidelines

  • Please be punctual so that we can start together
  • Put your phone away while working so that you remain focused and keep it safe
  • Only touch workpieces after soldering using pliers or gloves — they are very hot
  • Be mindful of open flames and fire while working
  • Use chemicals (e.g., pickling solutions) only as instructed and do not mix them
  • Keep your workspace clean so it remains safe for everyone
  • Dispose of waste (e.g., metal shavings, polishing pastes) as specified
