Workshop Facilitation & Short Bio

Michel Flores is a Mexican-born goldsmith, jewelry designer, lecturer, and founder of Five E Jewelry in Berlin. Born and raised in Puebla, Mexico, he left his home country at the age of 24 to travel the world and further develop his work as a jewelry maker. During his travels through more than 20 countries, including Peru, Costa Rica, and Morocco, he learned traditional goldsmithing techniques from experienced artisans.

At 27, he moved to Bavaria, where he studied goldsmithing and art. He subsequently moved to Berlin and worked for various jewelry companies, focusing on high-end and luxury jewelry. His work combines traditional craftsmanship with 3D jewelry design and modern production techniques.

Today, Flores runs Five E Jewelry as well as his own jewelry foundry in Berlin. In doing so, he works with materials such as recycled gold and Fairmined silver. Since 2020, he has also been offering private goldsmithing courses and workshops, where he passes on his knowledge and passion for the craft.

In addition to his work as a jewelry maker, Flores is currently studying art education at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) as well as Spanish at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. His goal is to eventually teach art and Spanish at a secondary school.

His work combines jewelry design, 3D techniques, casting, the lost-wax casting process, and pedagogy. At its heart are conscious production, traditional craftsmanship, creativity, and the exchange of knowledge.
